SRA see this as a very important future direction for public transport. This interest embraces traditional forms of door to door services such as community and social transport.  In addition, work has been done on projects that use satellite technology to link passengers with services in new ways.  These include the provision of real time information via mobile phones and the internet, linked to individual journey planning.  

• In order to understand how people make travel decisions SRA have led a team of experts on the influence that electronic information could have on this process

• SRA have also worked with big companies and local authorities to develop works travel plans which reduce car use. Solutions have included the provision of works minibuses and shared cars.
